Why book Evan

What makes this different from the average dinosaur speaker

Most dinosaur talks are one of two things: cartoonish facts for kids, or dense academic lectures for the four other paleontologists in the room. I do the third thing. I take the science I learned in the field and the lab, under Dr. Lindsay Zanno at NC State, excavating Nanotyrannus and Fona, studying tyrannosaur tooth morphometrics and growth patterns, and writing about it in Surviving Climate and Chaos, and I translate it into talks that an eight-year-old and a CFO will both still be thinking about a week later.

I've reached more than 300,000 people online doing this. On stage, the engagement is even better.

Corporate / Sustainability University Conference Keynote 45–60 min

Best for: Corporate sustainability events, university audiences, conference keynotes, Earth Day & Climate Week programming, and public museum lectures.

What audiences walk away with: A framework for thinking about climate change at deep-time scale, the five mass extinctions of Earth's history, what survived and why, and what dinosaur science says about resilience under pressure. Based on Evan's book Surviving Climate and Chaos.

Evan Jevnikar engaging an audience with dinosaur storytelling.
Talk 02

Real Dinosaurs vs. Hollywood Dinosaurs

Everything Jurassic Park got right, wrong, and weirdly almost-right.

K–12 (grades 3+) Libraries Family Museum Days 30–60 min

Best for: K–12 schools (grades 3+), public libraries, family museum days, and audiences who think they already know everything about dinosaurs.

What audiences walk away with: A paleontologist's take on the Jurassic Park franchise, what the science actually says about T. rex, Velociraptor, and Spinosaurus, and the new fossil discoveries that have completely rewritten what we thought we knew. Heavy on storytelling, photos from the field, and audience Q&A.

Talk 03

How to Be a Dinosaur Scientist in 2026

A paleontologist's roadmap, for the curious and the career-curious.

Middle / High School Universities STEM & Career Day 45–60 min

Best for: Middle and high schools (grades 6–12), universities, career-day programming, STEM events, and library teen programs.

What audiences walk away with: What paleontologists actually do (the field season, the lab, the writing), how to become one, and what the field looks like in 2026 with AI, CT scanning, and new ways of reading fossils. Equal parts career talk, science talk, and "what's it really like to dig up a T. rex cousin in Mongolia."

Looking for something different? I also build custom talks for organizations that want a paleontology angle on a specific theme, innovation, risk, deep-time thinking, women in STEM, climate adaptation, science communication. Message me with what you have in mind →
